I love working with couples from all backgrounds and walks of life.
As an elopement photographer based in Colorado, I have witnessed firsthand the excitement, risk, and reward that couples experience when they decide to take the leap and elope. It's a thrilling and intimate adventure that requires courage and trust, but the payoff is truly unforgettable.
As a photographer, my goal is to capture the raw emotion and beauty of your love story, creating images that will transport you back to that special moment for years to come. I'm passionate about helping you create an unforgettable elopement experience that you will cherish for a lifetime, and I'm ready to take the leap with you every step of the way!
"This one decision could change the trajectory of my life in ways I could never imagine."
I'm no stranger to risk taking! I believe calculated risk is necessary for growth. Looking back at my life and career, I can pinpoint decisions with varying levels of risk that have led me to where I am today. Being originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, I left everything behind in 2005 to move to South Korea to teach English.
I distinctly remember looking out the window of the plane, looking down over the city of Seoul, and thinking,
My journey into the world of photography started back in 2008 while documenting my travels in Asia. I quickly transitioned from taking "decent" photos to diving fully into the world of professional photography, with a passion for capturing beautiful moments through perfect lighting.
After photographing weddings in St. Louis for 7 years, I launched Jason Seward Photography in Colorado in 2021, and have been serving Rocky Mountain couples ever since.
While I hold a primary focus on photographing weddings and elopements, I also enjoy photographing all other aspects of life - engagements, family portraits, maternity, and more!
After photographing abandoned architecture around St. Louis, MO, a friend asked if I would photograph her bridal portraits. After photographing two sessions in abandoned churches and factories, a couple reached out to hire me for their wedding!
Growing up on the East coast of Canada, ocean water runs through my veins. Just being near the sea gives me life. Now that I live in the mountains of Colorado, hiking, mountain biking, and camping replenishes my energy.
With a master’s in professional counseling and over 10 years in the clinical mental health space, I transitioned to combining my clinical and entrepreneurial skills to assist nonprofits with increasing the impact of their mission.
After leaving everything I knew behind to teach English in South Korea, I met Gloria in 2007, and immigrated to the United States, first to St. Louis for 10 years, and then to her home state of Colorado.
Living across the country and spending most of my formative years in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I have been told that I fulfill some of the better stereotypes of Canadians (polite, go with the flow).
Our two sons, Roman and Killian, and dogs, Remi and Luna, keep us busy with family life.
As an inclusive photography studio, my top priority is your happiness and comfort, and I strive to provide accessibility to all.
I take pride in photographing LGBTQIA+ couples and will always show up as an ally. I strongly support body positivity and respect diverse cultures and traditions. Regardless of your background or values, I am committed to fostering a safe space so your special moment is unforgettable.
I am dedicated to my values and strive to bring them into every interaction with you.
